Prenatal Support

I provide comprehensive prenatal care consisting of frequent and unhurried visits where monitoring, education, and support are continuous to help ensure mother and baby remain low-risk and appropriate for out-of-hospital midwifery care.

Holistic care involves more than the "routine" prenatal appointment. Each visit allows for a minimum of 30 minutes (typically closer to 60 minutes) of one-on-one time with your midwife. During this time we explore all areas of your health including (but not limited to) mental, physical, emotional, and nutritional aspects. I offer thorough education, resources, and support to help maintain a healthy and low-risk pregnancy and lifestyle.

Throughout your pregnancy, I take the time to educate you about the changes happening in your body, prepare you for childbirth, and address any concerns or questions you may have. I believe that informed and shared decision-making is key to a positive birth experience, so I strive to provide you with the knowledge and resources you need to make choices that feel right for you and your family.

By offering comprehensive prenatal care that encompasses not only medical check-ups but also education and support, I aim to ensure that you feel confident, prepared, and empowered as you navigate the journey of pregnancy and childbirth.

Homebirth

I offer continuous support during active labor, birth, and immediate postpartum period, providing guidance and comfort measures to help women achieve their desired birthing experience while ensuring safety for both.

When you book with me, I am available to you for labor calls 24/7 once you've reached 37 weeks gestation. Whether you need a reassuring word, a comforting touch, or simply someone to hold space for you as you labor, I am there to support you in whatever way you need. I will provide guidance as needed during labor which may include (but not limited to) pain management, labor positions, nutritional and emotional assessment. In addition, both mother and baby will be assessed frequently to ensure labor is progressing as to be expected and that both are tolerating labor well.

I strive to help you feel confident, comfortable, and empowered as you birth your baby. We will take time to discuss a "birth plan" during your prenatal care so I know what factors might be most important to you during labor and birth. Your support system and birth team will be well prepared to best support you. My birth assistant (typically another midwife or highly trained nurse) and I are skilled to identify and respond to emergent situations should they arise for both mother and baby.

After your baby is born, I value skin-to-skin and "the golden hour" while continuing to closely monitor both mom and baby to ensure safety and wellness. We clean up as you are enjoying your newborn. During this time I am available to help with breastfeeding and ensure you and baby are transitioning normally.

Postpartum Care

I provide recovery support with frequent visits, breastfeeding assistance, emotional support, and guidance on newborn care and parenting.

Supporting you through the postpartum period is just as important to me as caring for you during pregnancy and childbirth. After your baby is born, my role as your midwife extends to helping you navigate the transition to parenthood with confidence and ease.

Recovery after childbirth is a unique journey for every individual, and I am here to support you every step of the way. From providing guidance on postpartum healing and physical recovery to offering support for emotional well-being, I am committed to ensuring that you have the resources and support you need to feel strong, healthy, and resilient as you adjust to life with your new baby.
